NeNe Talks “Chicago”Debut, “The View” & MORE!
NeNe Leakes makes her Broadway as Matron “Mama” Morton. The reality superstar is no stranger to the Broadway world. Leakes played as Wicked Stepmother. NeNe speaks to journalist Steven McCoy about how the role as Mama Morton came about. She reveals producer of musical “Chicago” Barry Weissler called her last year for for the role but had turned it down because she chose to do Cinderella. Now with her leaving “Housewives of Atlanta” she’s taking on a bigger stage in her career. Leakes also reveals the story of what happened during her appearance on “The View”. She says some of the women of “The View” was “not welcoming”, revealing stories of the action taken place during commercial breaks, and more.
Most people judge by perception, from word of mouth and by edited versions of stories editors wants to tell. Being a product of the Editor’s paycheck has not been an easy ride for NeNe but as she states in this interview she’s just a real mother from Atlanta, GA. NeNe remains close to the BRAVO network as she now uses the platform that RHOA has given her to branch out to do different things such as her new HSN clothing line “NeNe Leakes Collection” (which you can find on HSN.com) and her new show on ABC co-starring Betty White airing in January of 2016. So as many can see between the clothing line, new sitcom, an eight days a week broadway schedule (including rehearsals), and being a wife and mom she is absolutely keeping herself busy as she continues to build the NeNe Leakes brand.
